"Of all God's creatures, there is only one that cannot be made slave of the leash. That one is the cat. If man could be crossed with the cat it would improve the man, but it would deteriorate the cat." - Mark Twain

I am a breeder of the Exotic Highland and Desert Lynx cat. All of my cats are registered with REFR (Rare and Exotic Feline Registry). This breed was started in 1995 by Timberline located in North Carolina.  If you want to be added to the list of prospective owners, please send me your email adress and when kittens arrive you will be the first to know.

Temperament of the breed:

Highland Lynx are social butterflies if raised properly, they love companionship and have more dog-like behavior than cat. They are affectionate and love to communicate with their owner. They love strangers, too, and are very curious little creatures.  They want to be a part of everything you do. Highland Lynx have very nice personalities and tend to act a clown at times. Highland/Desert Lynx color stands out more as they mature and their colors will darken. ..or change completely. These are muscular felines. They have curled ears, some tighter than others. The curled ears are a dominant gene. The difference between a Highland Lynx and a Desert Lynx is the curling of the ears. Some are born with tails, some have no tails at all (rumpy) and some have either docked tails or bobcat hook tails. Some are born with polydactal feet and some have straight feet. All Highland and Desert Lynx kittens from "Exotic Catz R Us" will have great temperaments if they are for sale on this site.

Diet:

They do not require a special diet, however, a high-quality food is the best, I feed them a raw diet in addition to their cat food.
